Digital Badge Opportunities
How to earn a badge
FirstGen Society badges are awarded by performing a variety of service actions from the 5 Leadership Pillars of FirstGen Society as well as completing other additional activities and tasks.
There are many ways to participate and contribute independently or as a club or chapter. Participation is encouraged both on and off campus.
How it works
Once a member has completed a service action under one of the Five Leadership Pillars of FirstGenSociety or has accomplished another activity, task, or challenge, members must then complete and submit an Activity Completion Form located in the Member Portal to earn a digital badge and receive recognition.
Showcase your badge
Members can list their earned badges on their member profile in the Member Portal. In addition, FirstGen Society will share and announce awarded badges to members on our Social Media and other communications. Badges can also be recognized and presented during a Society Ball or a member’s club or chapter meeting.
Earn multiple stars on a single badge
Members can engage to accrue stars (or points) with the ultimate goal of making the Star Leaderboard for further recognition. The Star Leaderboard showcases those members who have participated 5x (earning a 5-star badge) in each Leadership Pillar category, as well as earned at least 5 different badges in other badging categories. The more members engage and participate, the more stars they can earn with each digital badge earned.

Service to Campus Badge
Awarded in recognition of successfully completing a service action that give back to the member’s school or campus.
Service to Community Badge
Awarded in recognition of successfully completing a service action that give back to the member’s community or neighborhood.
Service to Chapter Badge
Awarded in recognition of successfully completing a service action that supports the member’s club or chapter.
Service to Self Badge
Awarded in recognition of successfully completing a service action that focuses on individual growth, personal development, and mental health.
Service to Family Badge
Awarded in recognition of successfully completing a service action that focuses on recognizing and appreciating the support system or family that has played a crucial role in the success of future or current first-generation college students.
Additional Badge Opportunities
Additionally, new badges will be introduced as we develop additional activities and tasks for members to engage and participate in such as contests, challenges, academic achievements, student leadership team, and more.
