OUR PRIDE & SPIRIT
Being the "first up" to go to college is something remarkable and should never be overlooked. We believe first generation college students and alumni should receive the recognition and praise they deserve. Through our fellowship and community, we make it a priority to celebrate first generation college students and alumni all year round! There are a number of ways we show member pride and spirit at FirstGen Society.
The insignia of the National Leadership Society of First Generation College Students, a.k.a. FirstGen Society, is its official seal.
The primary colors of FirstGen Society are cyan and gold. Red is another color used delicately to emphasize courage and determination.
The Greek letters of FirstGen Society are Alpha Gamma Omicron and may be recognized at times by its Greek Letter logo.
The membership badge is a separate emblem that contains various elements of the seal.
The badge, which all members can purchase and wear, is the symbol of membership and is used to represent the different member grades.
The membership logo is a separate formal emblem that represents membership and our chapters and clubs.
Similar to the membership badge, the logo also contains the various elements of the FirstGen Society seal.
MASCOT & SIGNAL
FirstGen Society has its own mascot and hand signal called "First Up." The mascot is an element of our seal and membership logo and badge. It represents upward mobility, academic reach, and being the first in one's family to attend and graduate college.
Members are able to shop at the FirstGen Society Store where we can find and wear our FirstGen Society apparel and gear proudly.
The 3 mottos of FirstGen Society are to connect, empower, and grow together, which is incorporated within its tagline:
"Where we can connect, empower, and grow together."
Our Founders Day will be celebrated on October 5th of every year in celebration of the anniversary and official establishment of the National Leadership Society of First Generation College Students.
Members can wear our colors, our seal, our membership badge or logo, or our mascot on Founders Day.
